Haven Health is a Texas Breast & Cervical Cancer Services provider. This program helps fund sites across the state in order to provide quality, affordable, and accessible breast and cervical cancer screeings and disgnostic services to women.

The Breast and Cervical Cancer Services programs goal is to help women receive quality and accessible cancer screening and health services. Regular screening is the best method to detect breast or cervical cancer in its earliest stages.

The Breast and Cervical Cancer Services program services include:

• Screening services

• Pelvic examination and Pap test

You may receive these benefits if you:

• Are a female.

• Are a resident of Texas.

• Are 18 or older.

• Dont have health insurance.

• Meet the following income requirements:

If you have been diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer and don’t have health insurance that will pay for your treatment, you may be eligible to receive full Medicaid benefits by applying for Medicaid for Breast and Cervical Cancer. Medicaid For Breast & Cervical Cancer Program Managed Care Expansion

SNAP, TANF and Lone Star Card Information

Starting Sept. 1, 2017, women in the Medicaid for Breast and Cervical Cancer program will receive all their Medicaid services, including cancer treatment, through the STAR+PLUS health plan they pick.

After the transition, women who receive MBCC services will have the same Medicaid benefits they have today. In addition STAR+PLUS members receive:

• Unlimited prescriptions.
• A service coordinator to help them find the right providers for their needs.
• A primary care provider to make sure all of their needs are addressed.
• Value-added services which are extra services like respite, extra vision services, and health and wellness services.

Women who get MBCC services will have a nurse as their service coordinator. The service coordinator can help identify and address medical needs, help them and their families understand Medicaid benefits, ensure access to needed specialty services and help coordinate community supports including services that might be non-medical or not covered by Medicaid.

Beginning in June 2017, these women will get information in the mail about the upcoming change to managed care, including information about picking a health plan. They will have until August 14, 2016, to pick their health plan. The YWCAs Breast Cancer Patient Navigation Services enables breast cancer survivors to thrive and shine through the obstacles presented by breast cancer while encouraging, empowering, and supporting one another along the journey. Many of our services include identifying the needs of the patients and linking them to resources, survivor support groups, provide survivors with donated blessings, host special events/socials for survivors and publish information/written resources requested by survivors. We assist anyone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Breast & Cervical Cancer Screening & Diagnostics

The Womens Health initiative provides financial assistance for breast and cervical cancer screenings to uninsured and underinsured women and men who meet program guidelines. WHI serves more than 1,000 women annually with mammograms, diagnostic mammograms, biopsies and cervical cancer screenings. WHI also assists uninsured women who are diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer with an application for Medicaid for Breast and Cervical Cancer. WHI is the only Texas Healthy Women Breast and Cervical Cancer Services program contractor in the South Plains.
