Enrolling In Anthem Dental Coverage
There are generally few restrictions for enrolling in a standalone dental plan through Anthem or other carriers. You can sign up for Anthem dental plans at any time of the year and do not need to be enrolled in an Anthem health insurance plan in order to do so.
For dental coverage through a Medicare Advantage plan, you must enroll during certain times of the year such as when you first become eligible for Original Medicare or during the Annual Enrollment Period that takes place each fall. You also must be enrolled in both Medicare Part A and Part B and be at least 65 years old for most plans. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is committed to improving access to dental and oral health services for children enrolled in Medicaid and CHIP. We have been making considerable progress in our efforts to ensure that low-income children have access to oral health care.
