Dr. Joseph Pagliacci was born in Fort Erie, Canada in 1959. After his childhood, he received a hockey scholarship as a goalie to Western Michigan University where he received his B.A. in Biology. He then moved to Buffalo, NY in 1981. He went on to study dentistry at SUNY UB Dental School, graduating with high honors from the program in 1985. After working with a local dentist, he decided to open up his own practice, Delaware Dental Center in Buffalo, NY in 1989. He enjoys spending his time with his wife traveling. His hobbies include fishing and keeping healthy.

Philip A Galeota 93 Oral Surgeon Who Enjoyed Caring For Medicaid Patients
While attending the University of Buffalo on the GI Bill, Philip A. Galeota planned to become a high school teacher. But his older brother, who was studying to be a doctor, talked him into studying dentistry.
That decision changed the lives of thousands of people on Medicaid in Western New York, his family said.
“His older brother Sam, a general practice physician, acted as a kind of family head in their early manhood,” said Cynthia Galeota, one of Dr. Galeota’s daughters. “Sam also served Medicaid patients.”
Dr. Galeota, who became an avid runner in his 50s and completed several marathons, died March 28, 2020, at home in Winchester Gardens in Maplewood, N.J., of congestive heart failure. He was 93.
His family said that Dr. Galeota was one of the few oral surgeons in Buffalo who accepted Medicaid, and he served thousands of the regions low-income residents for decades. “He often spoke fondly” of his patients, his daughter said, and the gifts they gave him.
“I do think that his poverty in childhood made him empathize,” his daughter said.
His parents immigrated from Italy in the 1920s and settled in Oakfield, Genesee County. During the Depression, they helped feed their family with vegetables, chicken and rabbits they raised on their small farm.
After completing his military service in 1946, Dr. Galeota enrolled in the University of Buffalo. He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 1951 and graduated from the UB School of Dentistry in 1955.
He retired in 1998.
