Federal And State Child And Dependent Care Credit

Enrollment & Medicaid for the Aged, Blind, and Disabled

The federal Child & Dependent Care Credit is a special tax benefit for working people who pay for child or dependent care. Qualifying families can get back some or all of the federal taxes taken out of their paychecks during the year. New Yorks Child & Dependent Care Credit is even more valuable. Eligible families get extra cash back from NYS if their Child & Dependent Care Credit is worth more than the state taxes they owe. Even workers whose earnings are too small to have paid State taxes can get the NYS Child & Dependent Care Credit. Although it is most beneficial to families earning up to $50,000, all families with out-of-pocket expenses for child care benefit from the credit. This credit may be worth up to $3,000 for one child from the federal C& DCC and up to $2,100 from the NYS C& DCC.

Medicaid Fraud Attorney In Nassau County

If you are under investigation for Medicaid fraud, you should take the situation very seriously. While some accused of Medicaid fraud will only face a civil suit, many times a district attorney will also pursue criminal charges in these types of cases.

When contacted by a DSS investigator for Medicaid fraud, do not voluntarily offer any information which can be used against you. You do not want to help the DA make his or her case. The best thing you can do at this time is to find a lawyer who focuses on fraud defense. When your freedom is at state, it is never too early to seek legal advice.

Fiscal Year 2019 Federal And State Earned Income Tax Credit

The Earned Income Credit Tax Credit is a refundable tax benefit offered by the federal government. NYS also has a refundable EITC of 30% of a qualifying taxpayers federal EITC. The federal and state EITC are for working people who earn low or moderate incomes. They have several purposes: to reduce taxes for these workers, to supplement wages, and to make work more attractive than welfare. The combined federal and state EITC credit may be worth up to $6,239.

Workers who qualify for the EITC can get back some or all the income tax that was taken out of their pay during the year. They may also get extra cash back from the IRS and from NYS if their EITC is worth more than the taxes they owe.

When To Get An Attorney Involved

Nassau County Cracks Down on Medicaid Fraud Jill C Ryan

Many of our clients come to us after they have been formally charged. However, if you have been contacted by an investigator but have not yet received a criminal charge, contact us immediately. The sooner we can get involved in your case, the better chance we have to resolve it before it moves into an official criminal matter.

Most importantly, do not speak with the investigator or any law enforcement officials before speaking with an attorney. Regardless of what they might say, they are not on your side, and they are not looking to help you.

If you qualify for SNAP, you will receive an electronic benefit transfer card . In the state of New York, the EBT is known as the Common Benefit Identification Card .

CBIC cards are similar to debit cards and can be used in most grocery stores to purchase food. You can only buy food items using your CBIC card. It is not possible to use the card for buying medicine, alcohol, cigarettes, household supplies, or pet food.

SNAP benefits are deposited onto your CBIC card once a month. If you donât use the entire amount, the remaining benefits will be automatically transferred to the next month.

How much will I get in SNAP allowance in 2020?

What Services Are Provided By Medicaid In Nassau County

While Medicaid is a federal program, it is actually administered by each individual state. Therefore, the state you live in will determine what benefits are offered by Medicaid, in addition to what criteria you must meet to qualify for benefits. The individual states are required to abide by certain federal guidelines as part of the program, but they have latitude within those guidelines to set the rules and benefits as they see fit.

With that in mind, those living in Nassau County should take a moment to become familiar with what is offered by the state of New York under Medicaid. Itâs smart to understand what benefits are available to you so you can take advantage of your benefits to the fullest extent, assuming you are approved.

For starters, you will naturally be eligible for all of the mandatory benefits the federal government requires participating states to offer. Some of these important benefits include hospital services, nursing facility services, physician services, x-rays, family planning, and more. The mandatory benefits made available by Medicaid cover most of what you would think of as basic health services, so youâll be pleased to see just how much is covered as part of your benefits.

However, if the district attorneys come after you with threats of full criminal prosecution and jail time, we are fully prepared to wage a legal battle on your behalf. Our lawyers are aggressive legal advocates with a strong track record of obtaining favorable outcomes through pleas and at trial.
