Blue Cross Complete of Michigan is a managed care health plan contracted by the state of Michigan. We help Medicaid members get the health care they need in 32 Michigan counties across the state.

We provide members with the care they need, when they need it. This includes a wide range of benefits, such as transportation services, a 24-hour nurse help line, vision, hearing and dental coverage. We also offer pharmacy, maternity care and integrated care management benefits.

The Healthy Michigan Plan is a health care program from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. Blue Cross Complete administers Healthy Michigan Plan benefits to eligible beneficiaries.

Most, but not all, Blue Cross commercial members have their behavioral health coverage managed by New Directions.

Access your data on other mobile apps

Before agreeing to share your health data with a third party health or fitness app, youll be directed to sign in and authenticate the third party app using your Blue Cross Complete online account. If you dont already have an online account, youll be prompted to register before this process can proceed.

Once you review the Third Party Data Privacy Information , youll be directed back to the third party app approval process. There you may approve or cancel third party app selection. If, at any time, youd like to revoke consent to providing your health data to a third party app, you may do so from within your online account.

How To File A Claim With Blue Cross Blue Shield And Molina Insurance

If you use a network doctor or hospital, your claims will be submitted by that provider. If you see an out-of-network provider, you need to submit the claim yourself. You must submit a completed claim form or alternative documentation via fax or mailing address. As an alternative to sending a claim form, supply a description of services, a bill of charges from the provider and any medical documents you received from your provider.

For medical and/or dental services in the U.S. Puerto Rico or the U.S Virgin islands, Use these claim forms. For anywhere else or on a cruise ship outside the U.S. use the Blue Cross Blue Shield Global Core international claim forms. Blue Cross was formed in 1929 as a partnership between Baylor University Hospital and its patients who were struggling financially. The administrators of the hospital wanted to make healthcare more affordable for some patients, many of whom were Dallas public school educators on restricted budgets. The initial payment plan set up by Baylor University Hospital consisted of a 50-cent prepay each month for up to 21 days of hospitalization per year. The success of the program lead to enrollment by employees in other professions across Dallas.

Molina Healthcare was founded in 1980 by C. David Molina, an emergency room physician in Long Beach, CA. After seeing that patients were being turned away because the hospital would not accept Medi-Cal, he established his first primary care clinic in Wilmington, California in 1980. His goal was to treat the lowest-income patients. For 20 years, his son and fellow physician, J. Mario Molina, ran the company while he served as president and CEO. His younger son, John, was the CFO of Molina Healthcare. The two sons took over the company after their fathers death in 1996.

Blue Cross Complete Medicaid Product Serves States Healthy Michigan Plan

According to the state of Michigan, more than 139,774 uninsured adults in Michigan have gained health care coverage through the states Healthy Michigan Plan since April 1. The state anticipates that eventually more than 470,000 people will be eligible for the plan, which is Michigans Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act .

The expansion extends Medicaid access to adults who have annual income up to approximately $16,100 for a single person, or about $32,900 for a family of four. This law closes the coverage gap for people who dont earn enough to qualify for a subsidy on a marketplace plan, but who earn too much to qualify for traditional Medicaid.

Not only does the Healthy Michigan Plan provide low-income Michigan residents access to affordable health coverage, but it also encourages healthy behavior and personal responsibility and reduces uncompensated care that shifts costs onto businesses and taxpayers.

Blue Cross Complete has implemented payment systems to meet providers requests for more payment options. The payment systems allow providers the ability to receive the following payment options for claims reimbursement:

Electronic funds transferElectronic funds transfers allow you to receive your payments directly in the bank account you designate rather than receiving them by virtual credit card or paper check. When enrolling in EFT, you will automatically receive electronic remittance advices for those payments. All generated ERAs and a detailed explanation of payment for each transaction will also be accessible for download from the ECHO provider portal at providerpayments.com.
