  • We are aware of the statewide mask mandate being lifted. However, we at Southeast Texas Ob/Gyn will continue to require masks for all appointments, both patients and visitors per the CDC guidelines.
  • We ask all patients and visitors to bring a mask with them for their appointments. If you do not have one, one will be provided for you. All who enter the office must wear a mask at this time.

As always, we appreciate your continued patience and understanding as we face the challenges and changes that Covid-19 brings.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

What Should I Do To Prepare For Pregnancy

If youve decided that the time is right to start or expand your family, theres much you can do before you get pregnant to prepare.

The first step is to make an appointment with one of the obstetricians at Southeast Texas OB/GYN Associates, P.A. for a full examination and review of your current and past medical history. This baseline visit provides the doctor with information that may prove invaluable down the road. Its also a great time to review how you can best set yourself up for success, including:

  • Which supplements and vitamins you should take
  • Lifestyle changes, such as quitting smoking and reducing alcohol consumption
  • Ways to manage pre-existing health conditions

This visit also provides a great opportunity for you to learn more about your potential journey into motherhood, so come armed with any questions you may have.

What Is Prenatal Care

Once you receive the great news, your pregnancy is in full swing and the obstetricians at Southeast Texas OB/GYN Associates, P.A. sit down with you to review a prenatal schedule.

A typical prenatal schedule goes like this:

  • Once a month for weeks 4-28
  • Twice a month for weeks 28-36
  • Weekly after week 36

These visits are critical in making sure your pregnancy is progressing well and that you and your baby reach important milestones along the way. Its during these visits that you get the first glimpses of your baby through an ultrasound, and even find out the sex of your baby if youre so inclined.

Regular visits also provide important preventive care, allowing the obstetrician to spot and treat potential problems before they become major issues.

What Is A High

Dr. Nesbitt of CWHBC and Minimally Invasive OBGYN Surgeries in Beaumont ...

If youve been classified as a high-risk pregnancy, theres usually no need for immediate alarm. Women automatically fall into the high-risk category for many reasons, including:

  • Advanced age
  • A history of miscarriage
  • A pre-existing medical condition, such as high blood pressure or diabetes

In these instances, the doctors simply monitor your pregnancy more carefully through more frequent visits and testing.

There are also times when the obstetrician spots a problem that develops during your pregnancy that bears watching.

To help your pregnancy go as smoothly as possible, rely on the expertise of the obstetricians at Southeast Texas OB/GYN Associates, P.A. To get started, call or book an appointment online.
