This is an announcement about changes in health insurance coverage for some of WhidbeyHealths patients. Regretfully, we have made the decision that effective July 1, 2021, we will no longer accept Amerigroup coverage for service at our Primary Care Clinic at Cabot Drive and Freeland, as well as our Walk-In Clinics in Oak Harbor and Clinton. Coverage and acceptance of Amerigroup insurance will continue at our Medical Center, Emergency Department and Specialty Care Clinics, like Womens Care and Surgical Care. Unfortunately, this means we cannot provide primary care or walk-in service to patients with Amerigroup Medicaid.
Despite extensive efforts to work with Amerigroup, patients continue to experience excessive delays in claim processing, high rates of incorrect denials of coverage, and long waits for reimbursement. We have notified patients with Amerigroup coverage of this change, and have provided guidance about how to easily change to another Medicaid program, such as Community Health Plan of WA, Coordinated Care of Washington, or United Healthcare Community Plan.

Through LiveHealth Online, eligible Amerigroup Texas Medicaid consumers can conveniently access doctors, therapists, psychiatrists and more in English or Spanish, 24/7, 365 days a year.
AUSTIN, Texas—-Amerigroup Texas is now offering Medicaid consumers the option to access medical and behavioral healthcare providers through telehealth visits at no cost. On Aug. 1, Amerigroup Texas launched a new Medicaid benefit that allows eligible consumers to log into LiveHealth Online through a smartphone, tablet or computer that has a webcam, to visit with board-certified doctors, licensed therapists, psychologists and psychiatrists. Also, because this telehealth option is being extended as a benefit, eligible Amerigroup Medicaid consumers do not pay a fee to see healthcare providers via LiveHealth Online.
By making LiveHealth Online available at no cost to Amerigroup Texas Medicaid consumers, we are not only redefining whats possible in healthcare, but we are empowering individuals and families to improve their health outcomes, said Patrick Sturdivant, President, Amerigroup Texas.
